Tree Topper - Original Art

Gregory woke up with a smile on his face because today was The Special Day. He had looked forward to this day for many months now. As each day passed he would put an X through the previous day and his excitement would build. 

He bounded out of bed and ran out of the room. Stopping at the top of the stairs, he scolded himself. 

"No, everything has to be perfect" 

He turned around and went back to his bed. He made the bed quickly but meticulously.  

"There" he continued, "That is perfect"

Gregory stopped in his storage room and started looking through his skull collection. "It needs to be just right" he mumbled to himself as he threw skull after skull on the reject pile.

"None of these are right." Gregory lamented to himself. He hung his head in shame. "I didn't get enough skulls. Why did I hold back?"

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted it. A skull had tucked itself coyly behind the dresser.

"ah ha!" he exclaimed.  

Gregory grabbed the skull and rolled it around in his hands "Good size... no cracks... This... This is the one!" He exclaimed with a roar. 

He ran down the stairs, skipping every second step,  and rushed out the entrance of his abode.

As he locked the door behind himself he exclaimed "This is going to be the best Christmas ever!" He ran towards the human village.
